Really? Someone Actually Stopped Gaga?

I can't help but read an article about
Lady Gaga being banned in Jakarta, Indonesia. She's trending
worldwide because of this and now, many people are hilariously
specualting a lot of rumours about her for being banned in the said
country.
People in Jakarta, what are they exactly thinking? Rumour has it that Indonesians refused to have Gaga's feet touch their homeland because she might destroy their nation's morals. It's like a save now act before the singer “pollutes” the country's “morals.” But according to Yahoo news, Lady Gaga was earning a protest from Islamic hardliners and conservative lawmakers who said that her sexy style, clothing, and dance moves can corrupt the mind of their youth. Indonesia National Police spokesman Boy Rafli Amar said early this Tuesday that the permit for her "Born This Way Ball" concert had been denied.

I'm not a big fan
of Lady Gaga though I admit to sing along to some of her songs. But
this is really a bad news for the music industry. I know that Gaga is
crazy and all, but it is not right to judge the person right away
basing only on her looks, style and dance moves. I mean, we all know
what the old saying says right? "Don't judge a book by its
cover.” And it's very applicable in times like this when one person
is being criticized for how she looks and acts.

What's the use of the freedom to express when you're going to be criticized anyway? Frankly, this is a bad move for the country. People who have a strong ground won't be affected that easy with songs from Lady Gaga and other artists.
However, it is still the decision of the Indonesian government whether they'll approve her visit and uplift the ban. As for the people of Jakarta, we cannot blame them for being judgmental. Just like the other nations, they might just want to protect their country regardless if it's something small or big. It's just sad that it has to be an international singer like Lady Gaga.
